Hey neighbors,
We’re Marquis Jenkins and Ciara Lugo, your District Leader candidates for the 74th Assembly District - Part A.
We want to take a moment to break down what a District Leader actually does and why this role matters for our community:
A District Leader is an unpaid, volunteer-elected official who represents their political party within their Assembly District. Every formal political party in New York State is required to have at least one District Leader per Assembly District, and these positions are up for election every two years. This ensures that political parties remain democratic and accountable to the voters they serve.
As District Leaders, we wear a lot of hats to keep our community engaged and informed:
While these are our official duties, we see this role as an opportunity to do so much more. As District Leaders, we also:
This role is what we make of it, and we’re committed to making sure it works for you. If you ever have questions, concerns, or ideas for how we can serve our district better, we’d love to hear from you!
"Let’s keep building together".
